2022 Spring Conference Speakers                                     

 

Brian Berry, CRNA

Berry currently serves as the System Chief Nurse Anesthetist and Director of of Perioperative Services at Excela Health, a 5-facility system located in Western Pennsylvania.  At Excela, Mr. Berry is responsible for leading the operational, financial and strategic goals of both anesthesia and perioperative services.  Mr. Berry is Adjunct Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh where he provides didactic instruction on various subjects such as simulation, pharmacology, obstetrics, and regional anesthesia.  Mr. Berry has lectured at both national and international continuing medical education conferences and has been published in the Wall Street Journal, USA today, American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Journal, and the International Journal of Clinical Anesthesiology.  Mr. Berry has served on the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Public Relations committee and has been both a Board of Trustee member and the Vice President of the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Mr. Berry’s education includes a Master’s in Science from St. Vincent College and Master’s in Business Administration from Waynesburg University.  Most recently, Mr. Berry has been named Excela Health’s Co-coordinator of the Safety Program for Improving Surgical Care and Recovery (ISCR), an activity in conjunction with the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Johns Hopkins, and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Among a multitude of awards, Mr. Berry was recently recognized in Pittsburgh Magazine in 2017 for distinction among Advanced Practice Providers. 

 


Eric Lindstrom, CRNA

Jake Lindstrom is the Chief CRNA and Manager at West Virginia University: JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown WV.  During his 10 years as an anesthetist there he has been a member of the Pediatric Cardiac team for nearly all of it. He has also lead the charge for the implementation of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery, amongst many other projects.

 

 

 

 

 

 Matthew Zinder, CRNA

 

Matthew Zinder has worked in some level of healthcare for 20 years, starting as an EMT in a volunteer fire station. Matthew owns and operates a Maryland-based mobile anesthesia practice that has been in business since 1984. It consists of 20 practitioners and covers 60 locations throughout the state of Maryland. Matthew speaks at many professional conferences, both nationally and internationally, involving topics such as business of anesthesia, hypnosis, and the practice of anesthesia. Matthew also has an active hypnotherapy practice that caters mainly to healthcare providers. Matthew is also the founder and director of Maryland Emergency Response, a disaster relief 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to aid victims following natural and/or man-made disasters.
