2023 Spring Conference Speakers                                     

 

Brian G. Cornelius, DNP, CRNA, NRP

Brian Cornelius is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia at Texas Wesleyan University. He’s also a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at John Peter Smith Hospital, in Fort Worth Texas, a Level 1 trauma center where his practice consists primarily of emergency and trauma anesthesia.  He has over 25 years’ experience in anesthesia, prehospital, emergency and critical care to include work as a paramedic, flight/ICU nurse, deputy/tactical paramedic and finally a CRNA.  He has been with NDMS since 2010 and currently serves on TCCT and CCATT.

 

 

 

 

 

Reed Halterman, DNP, CRNA

Reed Halterman is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Anesthesia Program and Augusta University in Augusta, Ga. Prior to joining as faculty, he served as the Assistant Chief CRNA at Augusta University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Dr. Halterman received his Master’s in Nursing Anesthesia from Georgia Regents University and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida.

He currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Georgia Association of Nurse Anesthetists Board of Directors. He has lectured about neuromuscular reversal drugs, pediatrics, addiction, and safety and quality at the state and regional level in the Southeast.

 

 

 

 

Angela Mund, DNP, CRNA

Dr. Angela Mund received a certificate in Nurse Anesthesia from the Minneapolis Veteran’s Affairs School of Nurse Anesthesia in 1998 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2008 from the University of Minnesota. Dr Mund is a veteran of the US Army Nurse Corps, serving as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from 1996-2006. She was recently appointed by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to serve on the Veterans Healthcare Rural Advisory Committee.

 Dr. Mund is the Chair for the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina, leading a team of faculty and staff from the physician assistant, nurse anesthesia, cardiovascular perfusion, healthcare studies, and genetic counseling programs. Her areas of scholarship are healthcare policy and cardiovascular anesthesia. Dr. Mund is the President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology.
